The Stables is a self catering Holiday Cottage in Pembrokeshire set in 70 acres of it’s own coastal farmland. This converted Pembrokeshire long barn sleeps 6, faces the sea and has panoramic views from Fishguard Bay to Dinas Head. It also has wonderful views up over the Preseli hills. The farm was used as a location for The 1956 Hollywood movie, Moby Dick. The Whale scenes were shot from our fields.

The Stables is one of the rare holiday cottages in Pembrokeshire to have views both across the sea and up over the Preseli Hills. Enjoy amazing summer evening sunsets over the sea from the living room and outdoor patios.

The farm has it’s own beautiful beach just minutes walk across the fields from the cottage. It is secluded, safe for swimming and an ideal beach for relaxing. It is dramatic at all times of the year. In the summer it is sheltered from the prevailing winds and is great for swimming, bathing, exploring the rockpools and simply chilling out . In the winter it can be equally dramatic as the big atlantic rollers make there way into the bay.

The Stables is surrounded by Ffynnonofi farmland and for most of the year there are sheep in the fields around the cottage. In the spring there will be lambs staring at you through the windows! The fields lead right down to the coastal path and beach. The Stables is one of the few holiday cottages in pembrokeshire to be completely surrounded by national park farmland.


Many traditional Pembrokeshire holiday cottages have small windows and can be a bit dark.The Stables cottage has bright spacious rooms with white washed walls, local ash floors, cosy wood burning stoves and great sea views. The bedrooms have views up Garn Fawr mountain and the living room faces the sea. The cottage gets the sun all day and there are lots of places to sit and relax both inside and out.

In the heart of Celtic culture
The farm is perfectly located for visitors who want to explore the Celtic history of The Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. North Pembrokeshire boasts some of the best examples of ancient burial chambers, standing stones and Cromlechs. St Davids and it's wonderful Cathereral is only 15 miles south. There are some stunning churches and examples of the earliest celtic writing in Nevern.

Holiday Cottages in Pembrokeshire are served by wonderful bays, coves and beaches. There are several in walking distance form the Stables. Aberbach is a lovely 20 minute walk down the coastal path southwards, and Pwllgwaelod is just 15 minutes walk north. Cwm-Yr- Egylws is very sheltered pretty bay and great for swimming and boating, It is only a short walk down the back lane. Newport sands is a lovely long sandy beach 4 miles drive north and Whitesands and Newgale beaches are 30 mins south.

We believe it is increasingly important that Holiday Cottages in Pembrokeshire become more eco friendly. We owe it to the landscape and future generations.
Although we are by no means perfect we have a mission to reduce our carbon footprint each year. We encourage energy efficiency, we buy our electricity from Ecotricity which is 100% wind genererated, we use ecological building and cleaning materials where we can, we promote biodiversity, we encourage our visitors to shop locally and recycle waste.

Ideal location for walkers
The Stables is an ideal base for keen walkers. The famous Pembrokeshire coastal path is just a few minutes walk across the fields and the Dinas Island walk is literally at your doorstep. There are wonderful walks both south towards Aberbach and Fishguard and north towards Newport Bay. The Preseli hils are also right behind the Stables and you can walk up to Garn Fawr and Carningli from the farm. The Gwaun valley is just a short drive over the hills.

One of the major attractions of this Holiday Cottage in Pembrokeshire is that it is benefits from both a coastal location whilst being right at the heart of the wonderful Preseli Hills. In one afternoon you can walk up to walk to the top of Carningli or Garn Fawr mountain and visit several coves in the same trip.
There are several horse riding stables nearby providing great access up over the hills.

This self catering cottage is a great location for mountain bikers, kayakers, horse riders and hikers. It is on the doorstep of the Preseli Hills and there are a wide variety of trails and bridleways over the Preseli Hills and into the Gwaun Valley. North Pembrokeshire has such variety of landscape that you can be climbing up to an ancient Cromlech one minute and swimming on our beach 30 minutes later.
