Pembrokeshire Holiday Cottage with it's own secluded beach. Sleeps 6 No Pets
The Stables is a Pembrokeshire holiday cottage with it's own beach. The farm beach is called Cwm Gwyllog, and is just a few minutes walk across the fields.
The beach is surrounded by dramatic slate cliffs, gorse and ferns and is sheltered from prevailing winds in the summer months. It is a slate and shingle beach with lots of nooks and crannies to sit, sunbathe and have a picnic. On a still day the water is very clear and safe for swimming and paddling.
The bay is beautiful all the year round as the colours change with the seasons. One minute the cliffs are all bathed in gorse yellow, the next moment they are deep fern red. When the north wind blows huge rollers come crashing up the beach.
In the winter the beach is great for beachcombing and those bracing afternoon walks.
The cliffs above the beach are a great spot for nature lovers. There are guillimots and cormorants and seals regularly surface in the bay.
There are several other beaches only a short walk from the Stables. Pwllgwaelod beach is a 10 minute walk to the south and Cwm -Yr- Eglyws is a lovely sheltered sandy cove only 15 minutes down the back lane.
Newport Sands is a 5 miles drive away and Whitesands Bay is 25 minutes by road on the way to St Davids.
